Well that quickly fell by the wayside...

...its been ages since I posted.
What can I say - its been a whirlwind of activity!

We managed to get out of the old and flat and into the new flat without too much commotion...although some may say we did have too much stuff! I am inclined to agree when most of it is still in boxes and hasn't been used since we moved!

Now we are temporarily settling into life in the Merchant City! We went for dinner on Firday night and spent most of yesterday in various bars and pubs....really do need to curb the spending so we have some money left for NZ!

It's now less then 9 weeks till we fly out....time has never moved so quickly!

We are due to head down to Essex this coming weekend to catch up with friends and family and we are staying for a week.

I am hoping to find some decent piccies of NZ to get up here to help explain why we are going so keep your eyes peeled!

I just want to sleep!

Well, off work today, tomorrow and Friday for the move.
Have managed to get some more stuff packed up and cleared out this morning and then made the big mistake of coming online to check my emails!
Now I can't be bothered doing anything else and I just want to curl up on the couch for a nap.....but I have the feeling the nap could turn into hibernation.
Ah well, back to it, I just need to remember that in 11 weeks time I will be doing something great in Auckland!

Countdown

Days left till we move (from Flat to Room): 2 / 3 (Move out of flat Thursday, into room on Friday - eeek!)
Days left at work: 39 - woo-hoo!
Weeks left till we go to NZ: 10 on Friday 15th April!
Days left till we go to NZ: 73!

The Big Question

The question most people ask is why?
The answer to this is simple and easy - why not? !
The 'Why' is because there has to be more out there and we wanted to see what 'more' was!

The next big question is, of course, why NZ? So here goes...
  • it had to be English speaking -neither of us have particularly good language skills! (And for me, that goes for English language skills as well!)
  • it had to have a slightly better climate then the UK
  • it couldn't be too hot

So NZ met all this criteria, we looked into Australia as well but for now, NZ holds the biggest appeal.

And ever since we have been looking into this and researching NZ we have not found anything that has put us off.

It will very interesting to see if it meets all our expectations when we eventually arrive!

The journey has started....

....and so it has begun.
Here we are less then 11 weeks before take off.
Life is somewhat chaotic but exciting!

So - 24 June - the big day, we fly from Heathrow to Auckland via LA.
We have our working holiday visa's, we have our flights booked and we are halfway there to having our accommodation on arrival booked.
What else is there to do other then put our feet up?

Oh yeah....pack all our stuff, empty our flat and vacate it by this Friday, move to a room temporarily, sell the car, ditch the sofas, buy some travel insurance, say goodbye and go.....
New Zealand flag.
